On Saturday, April 5, Dylan Scott held a concert at Terminal 5 in Manhattan. The show was part of the “County Till I Die” tour, which featured openers Graham Barham and George Birge. The doors to the venue opened at 7:00 that evening, and fans started rushing in to secure their spot in front of the stage.
Once you enter the building, the merch booth was located along the way to the stage and fans were given the opportunity to purchase shirts, hats, and even an exclusive meet and greet with Dylan Scott himself after the show.
Shortly after the doors opened to the public, the first opener Graham Barham took the stage to perform half a dozen songs, including hits “OIL MONEY” and “WHISKEY WHISKEY.” After Barham’s set, the second and final opener of the evening George Birge performed. Birge’s set was about double the length of Barham’s and performed songs such as “Mind on You” and “Cowboy Songs.”
After the two openers, fans got to witness Dylan Scott perform. Scott delivered a diverse set of uptempo songs, soft ballads and everything in between. Scott opened the show with his song “Good Times Go By Too Fast” and continued to perform hits such as “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us,” “What He’ll Never Have,” “My Girl” and “New Truck” just to name a few.

Towards the latter part of the set, Scott ended up bringing back Barham and Birge on stage to perform a medley of strictly 90’s country classics. Finally, he closed the show with his #1 hit “My Girl.”
Junior nursing major Keely Thomas was in attendance and says her favorite part of the show was the 90’s county medley featuring Barham and Birge, “I really enjoyed the 20 minutes in between his usual set where he spent interacting with the crowd and singing country favorites to all the different generations in the crowds.” Thomas said.
“You could tell he really enjoyed being up there and being with his fans.” Thomas was first introduced to Scott’s music while line dancing at a Texas bar with friends. She was impressed with the consistency between Scott’s recorded songs and his live performance,” Dylan Scott’s concert presence was really good. He sounded exactly the same as his recorded songs and had really good energy.”
Freshman business administration major Sofia Kitras says her favorite part of the show was when Scott was interacting with the crowd, “I loved when he interacted with the audience. He was handing out red solo cups to a few audience members and was talking throughout the show.” Kitras feels that by Scott interacting with the crowd, it maintained a genuine connection between artist and audience,
“He kept it real which was great, the music was great too but I especially loved it when an audience member proposed to his fiancé and Dylan Scott made the time to talk to them and make them both feel special. That’s a sign of a genuine dude.”
Terminal 5 had multiple balconies above the floor for fans to watch the show. It is a small indoor venue that can hold up to 3,000 people. The venue was filled to the brim with county music fans alike, Thomas says, “The venue was pretty good, I prefer outdoor venues but with the bad weather that night I appreciated it being indoors. It was packed but not too crowded in a way that ruined the night.”
Kitras had a similar take, “We were on the floor and had a great view of the stage, we were a little cramped but that is to be expected at any concert. For what it was, it was great.” Kitras added, “There were multiple balcony levels and they were all packed out for the show.”
Thomas didn’t hesitate when asked if she would see Scott again in concert, “I would definitely see him again. Tickets were cheap and it was a fun time.” Tickets were available for as low as $30.
Kitras added, “I would definitely see him again! He was great live and I had an awesome time!” She added, “Most concerts at Terminal 5 are on the more affordable side, usually more than other venues.”
Scott will continue the “Country Till I Die” tour and it will conclude in St. Augustine, FL on May, 17.
