We all have our idols. We flip through magazines and spot that particular person we only dream to one day look like. “If only I had that body, if only I had her legs, if only I had his abs” –right? We are all guilty of it. “If only” has become a common phrase used repeatedly in our society in situations where we think something is impossible. However, in truth, such a phrase is simply a cowardly way of giving up –a weak and lazy excuse for not trying.

Over 200 students, faculty members, and community members came out to the Tilles Atrium Friday, November 19 to view the sold out C.W. Post fall fashion show. The show, nicknamed “Rouge: A Runway Tale,” featured clothes designed and modeled by Post students. This was the first of two shows scheduled to take place this year. In addition to the fashion exhibitions, for the first time in Post’s fashion show history guests were also served dinner and treated to performances from both the C.W. Post Dance Team and X-Factor.
The Pioneers ended their season on a high note, beating Slippery Rock University 42-38 and also giving head coach Brian Collins his 100th victory with the C.W. Post Pioneers.
Senior Erik Anderwkavich, playing in his final game, started off the scoring for Post connecting with Grayson Laurino for a 46-yard pass. The Rock would come right back two minutes later scoring when Akeem Satterfield took a 30-yard rush into the end zone. Satterfield had a big day, rushing for 271 yards and scoring four touchdowns.

The C.W. Post women’s field hockey team saw their season come to a close this past Saturday in Pennsylvania.
The Pioneers walked away from their matchup against defending Division II National Champion Bloomsburg University with a 4-0 loss, dropping their record to 9-10 while boosting the Huskies’ to an impressive 16-2.
The 2010 C.W. Post Men’s soccer team finished with a record of 7-8-2 (4-3), which qualified them to reach the East Coast Conference Championships. In the championships, Post squared off against a tough Dowling squad and lost a heartbreaker via penalty kicks.
“A loss is a loss,” said senior forward Rumen Kerekov. “Although the game was even, there was a disappointment from the loss. Shootout is gambling and unfortunately we were on the losing side.”
The C.W. Post Women’s soccer team is on their way to the third round of the 2010 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championships after defeating the American International College (AIC) Yellow Jackets on Sunday.
The lady Pioneers continued their on-field domination by shutting AIC out 2-0. During the first half the lady Pioneers put the pressure on AIC goalkeeper Kara Potts, but could not find the back of the net.
