Eirik Bjørnø ’13

Eirik Bjørnø (B.F.A. Journalism ’14, M.A. Interactive Multimedia Arts ‘15), the Pioneer’s Sports Editor for 2013-2014, and previously a player_BJOERNOE,-Eiriksports writer for the Pioneer, is an Account Executive for international corporate clients for the international telecommunications company TeliaSonera. The company is present in over 40 countries and works under the vision: “Bringing the world closer, on the customer’s terms.”

Eirik is also part of a project that develops new apps that enhance customers’ experiences. He writes that “Right now we are developing an app that allows our customers to take a photo of their receipts for travel expenses and upload it right into our app, and automatically transfers into their payroll system. Very interesting work, and the mix between projects and working with customers all over Scandinavia is great.”

He played soccer at LIU Post for four years, and was named captain of the team during his freshman year. He started all 78 games since he moved to the U.S. from Norway, and has the school record for assists, with 35. As part of the LIU Post soccer team, he won 2 conference championships and 3 NCAA national tournament bids. Eirik received his B.S. in Journalism and later his masters in Interactive Multimedia Arts at LIU Post. One of Eirik’s most popular contributions to the Pioneer was his “Extreme Sports” column that he wrote in 2013.
